Located in the first class municipality of Puerto Galera in the island of Mindoro, is the Ponderosa Golf Club. The club is the lone golf course in the area. The golf club is a 9 hole, par 30 course in which anyone can enjoy the game of golf be it a beginner, a serious golfer, or someone who wants to try it out for fun.

For most golfers it will practice and challenge their short iron and game skills. In this course, players won’t be needing any of their long irons. The course have no long drives down the tree-lined fairways but, the club offers a serious challenge to any golfer’s short game. Ponderosa Golf Club’s nine holes are strategically placed in over 22 hectares of steep mountainside. The elevation of the club have drastic differences through out the course. There are parts of the club that the fairways literally plunge from tee to green. For this reason, the players have to walk through the course.

Ponderosa Golf Club not only offers its challenging course but, as well as the amazing views of the beaches and bays of the island as the course is situated on top of Mount Malasimbo. Players could also see the surrounding islands all the way from the mountains to the smallest volcano in the Philippines which is the Taal volcano. Another benefit of the club house is that after a round of golf, the players can just seat back relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset.
