Subic Bay Golf Course Description
Subic Golf by Subic Leisure World Inc., formerly known as Subic Bay Golf and Country Club, can be found within the Subic Olongapo City. Due to the eruption of the highest mountain in the Philippines, Mt. Pinatubo, the course was forced to close indefinitely. It was later renewed and reopened in 2012. The 18-hole course was re-designed by golf architect Desmund Muirhead.
The well-maintained fairways and greens are surrounded by challenging sand traps and water hazards littered throughout the course. Hole No. 11 is the most infamous match for any golfer as he or she will encounter multiple hazards. If you need a break you can cool off at the various tee houses located throughout the course as well as the restaurant, which you will find at the clubhouse.
This course is a semi-private course where visiting golfer can be accompanied by members and use the facilities as well as the course. Subic Golf is the only course located within the freeport zone area, which is a popular attraction for visiting military golfers. From Manila, you can visit this course via a 2 hour and 30 min drive north.
