Match Updates:
The inaugural leg of the Sta. Lucia Amateur Golf Tour held at Eagle Ridge has ended. Crowd favorite Rupert Zaragosa won the championship after a neck-and-neck match against Carlo Villaroman. He wound up with a score of 72 to tie with Zaragosa with a 73 in the Open Division which caused his defeat at the Aoki Course of Eagle Ridge.
SLLI Chairman Vicente Santos praised Zaragosa on this match, “He played like a veteran in the extension”.
Coming in third place is Aniceto Mandanas. This event serves as the one of the qualifiers of the National Golf Association of the Philippines for the selection of the competitors for the Sea Games in July.
Moreover, the team who spearheads this event aims to help in the propagation of amateur golf in the Philippines. The next leg of the SLA Tour will be held at Summit Point Golf and Country Club on May 21 to 23, 2015.
